Today I've managed to get hold of review access to Vidgeos, so now I've had chance to have a good play around with it, I'd like to give you my take on it.

Watch the official demo video below to find out the awesome features of Vidgeos, and the things it CAN do, (such as Video Text Translation to other languages, geo-dependent Smart Elements, List Building features, Clickable Hyperlinks and Calls To Actions etc), and then, so you can make an informed decision about whether to invest in Vidgeos, see what I've got to say about the things it CAN'T do (at least at the time of writing this!)

I personally think that Vidgeos is a pretty cool video player / creator and I'm planning to use it in my business.

BUT, there are some limitations, and I'll discuss these below:

Completed videos are uploaded directly to your Amazon S3 account (you'll need to create one if you don't already have an account), and then they can be displayed on a website via an embed code.  This is required because otherwise the Smart Elements like Date, Time, City and Country won't work.

There is no way to directly export your video to MP4 or upload it directly to YouTube or Vimeo.  However, there is a workaround, which is basically doing a screen capture video of your video playing within the software, or once it's embedded on a website.  If you're not worried about the Smart Elements, or you didn't include any, then the workaround is probably the way to go, especially if you want to feature your video on YouTube.

Personally, I think they should at least give you the option, because not everyone will be using Smart Elements in every video, and you never know this is something they may introduce at a later date, but at the end of the day the Smart Elements are a big part of what makes Vidgeos what it is!

MP4 or MOV import is not supported.  Again, perhaps this is something they may introduce later but it's currently not possible.  I'd personally like to see this as a feature – it would be pretty cool to be able to use videos as backdrop for text, or to inset a video clip within an image of an iPhone or an iPad for example, but currently you can only use static images.

On a very positive note though, you can apply a Ken Burns effect to the background image you're using so you can at least get a small sense of movement in the background.

You can import a variety of images to use in Vidgeos, such as animated GIFs, PNGs and JPGs but you can't import animated SWFs, which is a shame because you probably have lots of those already, especially if you use Explaindio or VideoMakerFX.  Additionally, SVG files seem to import with a white background, so that's not much use if you have a different colored background.

On the very positive side, the large variety of pre-set animations (in, out and in between!) is fantastic, so you can easily transform a static image with just a few clicks.  Or you can always convert your SWF characters to GIF, then you can use them in Vidgeos 🙂

Because there's no timeline, it can be a bit tricky to see the order of animations.  It's basically a case of setting the right delay from the first element you want to appear, to the next, and onwards throughout the slide creation process.

On the positive side, the UI is very user friendly with sliders and boxes which make it super easy to set timings to the tenth of a second if you want.

Unlike PowerPoint, Explaindio or VideoMakerFX, I could see no way to be able to export a template or a project for sharing with another Vidgeos user.  I would have liked to create some as a Bonus, but unfortunately this wasn't possible for me to do 🙁

On the positive side, there are some really nice video templates included, (see some example videos on my Bonus Page).  You can choose to add a single slide to your project, or all the slides from that template at once.  The templates are easily edited and are a good way to get to know just what can be achieved with Vidgeos so you can start building your own slides from scratch.

Additional Offers (OTOs)

If you decide to invest in Vidgeos (either monthly, annually or lifetime), the next offer you'll get is for additional Templates.  Judging by the quality of what's already included, I think it would be awesome to get 100 more templates immediately, plus 50 more each month.

The next offer is for Pro features not included in the standard version of Vidgeos, being Tap-to-call, Social Sharing, Add your logo to player, 30 Premium Audio Tracks, 50+ Extra Transitions & 100+ Text Fonts.

My Conclusion

As I said above, I plan to invest in Vidgeos myself, because at the very least I think it's a fantastic way to easily create Animated and Kinetic Text videos with really awesome extra features that no other video creator or player can offer.   If you know you'll benefit from having viewers in other countries seeing your videos, then the Text Translation feature is a real must have for you, and should definitely increase your conversions from countries other than your own.

Additionally, knowing the product creator (who also created other video software in the past), Vidgeos will more than likely be developed further and new features added which will make it an even more useful video tool.  No doubt the price will rise as new features are added, but if you get in now, you'll get the upgrades for free (at least that's how it's worked in the past with his other software!).

Bonuses

The Developers have included some awesome Bonuses for you, and I'd also like to offer you a $100 Voucher to spend in the ProVideoVault.com store when you purchase through my link. There are over 150 products to choose from, but personally I would recommend you go for things you can use within Vidgeos, such as the Cartoon or other backgrounds, animated-GIF character sets and static icons which you can easily animate within Vidgeos itself.  Click the button below to see my Bonus Page, but remember you're going to get the $100 Voucher too 🙂

This morning before running out of the door I got a tiny glimpse of the app myself and was excited, it looked really slick but I sat down hours later and while I see many people going to buy cuz it’s the “shiny cool new thing” I realized many things: 1) it’s unbelievable expensive 2) it has way too many limitations that you mentioned and you can’t even use YouTubE?????   I get most of my traffic from YT so its totally useless honestly…but the price was just outrageus! Screams GREED at the top of his lungs ..if you were going to buy all of it with the 2 OTOS you’d be spending almost $400 …wow I’ve bought many cool applications for a 1/10 of that….I bought a new laptop the other day for that much money!  I would’ve gladly pay $30 for this app but no more than that …anyways thanks for your review

  3. JessicaLascurain1 thanks for your take on this.  I must say I think the YouTube thing will put some people off, but it’s basically because the interactive geo elements won’t work with YT.  I understand they have now added the ability to bring in MP4s so that’s a definite improvement 🙂
